Nextdev Connect — Privacy Policy

What this extension does

Nextdev Connect is a browser extension with a single purpose: it lets you link your own LinkedIn account to your Nextdev workspace in one click. It does not automate any tasks, scrape pages, or run in the background. It acts only when you click "Connect my LinkedIn."

What data we collect

When you click Connect, the extension reads the following from your browser and sends it once to Nextdev:
  • Your LinkedIn session cookie (li_at) — an authentication token that represents your logged-in LinkedIn session.
  • Your LinkedIn Recruiter / Sales Navigator session cookie (li_a), if you have a premium seat — an authentication token of the same kind as li_at. It only exists once you have opened LinkedIn Recruiter or Sales Navigator. If you do not have a premium seat, there is nothing to read and this is simply absent.
  • Your browser user-agent string — sent so the connection stays stable and is attributed to your real browser.
  • The connect code you type into the extension — an access code we issued you. It is not personal information and is not linked to anything about you outside Nextdev.
The extension does not ask for your name or your email address. We do not collect your password, your browsing history, your messages, your location, or any data from sites other than LinkedIn. The extension does not read the content of any page — it never sees profiles, candidate data, messages, or search results.

How the data is used

  • The session cookies are sent to Nextdev's API and passed to our connection provider (Unipile) solely to establish the link between your LinkedIn account and your Nextdev workspace.
  • We do not store the raw session cookies on our own servers; they are used only to create the connection and are then discarded.
  • We keep a record of the connection itself — who connected, when, whether a premium seat was attached, and whether it succeeded — but never the cookies.
  • A newly connected account is recorded as paused. It stays inactive, and no automation runs on it, until someone at Nextdev activates it.
  • We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties outside of providing this service.
  • We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to linking and operating your LinkedIn account within Nextdev, as you authorize.
  • We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Permissions

  • cookies — to read your LinkedIn session cookies at the moment you click Connect.
  • storage — to remember the connect code you typed, so you do not have to retype it. This is kept on your own machine and is never used for anything else.
  • Access to linkedin.com — to read those session cookies.
  • Access to joinnextdev.com — to send the connection request to Nextdev's API.

Your control

You can disconnect your LinkedIn account from Nextdev at any time by asking us to remove it, or by changing your LinkedIn password (which invalidates the session). You may also remove the extension from Chrome at any time. Your connect code can be revoked on request, which prevents any future connection.
